Developmental Assessment

A Developmental Assessment looks at all the big stuff, like plot holes and whether your characters are three-dimensional. I will read your manuscript and give you constructive, practical feedback on the overall shape, style, characters and their motives, storyline, dialogue, world-building, pace and voice. I do this by phone, as at this stage in the editing process it’s just so useful to be able to ask each other questions.

I will also, (if needed,) finesse a snapshot of your grammar and punctuation. In all probability, you’ll be able to take my example and perfect your own grammar from there. However, if you want to double check your syntax, you may want to follow up your Developmental Assessment with some Line Notes.

Many people I’ve worked with have become published and won competitions. So email me a rough project outline to receive helpful suggestions for your creative journey, or if you’d prefer to chat, email your phone number and I will call you right back: whatgailwrote@gmail.com
