Where to Start

Stories surround us. We grow up with stories. We instinctively know what a story is; yet, no matter how strong our urge to write one, the hardest thing can be knowing where to start.

Girl, sitting on the grass, with notebook on her knees, writing her story. An idyllic picture of a Cornish creative writing class.

Where to Start is a two-hour creative writing workshop that unpacks our storytelling instinct. Through thinking about characters and their needs, we will discover how to use obstacles to develop storyline.

Whether you’re a first-time writer or looking to reinvigorate a long-term project, this friendly, supportive workshop in the heart of Cornwall will provide inspiration for your novel, short story or novella. Join us; it’ll be really fun! Please bring a notepad and pen, (or laptop, or tablet, or phone…)
